THE BOAT PEOPLE: A STORY OF SURVIVAL AND HOPE

Local resident Van Cam Quach has shared with The Sentinel a book written by

her, titled “The Boat People”. This powerful memoir tells the story of the author’s

dysfunctional family, made up of three parents and twelve children, and the immense

hardship they endured growing up in war-torn Vietnam. The book also details the

discrimination they faced under the new communist regime due to their father’s position in

the previous government in the town of Vung Tàu.
