Robinvale Lantern Festival - Friday 11th September

Robinvale will once again come alive with colour, light and culture when the Robinvale Euston Rotary Club’s 2026 Lantern Festival takes over Perrin Street on Friday, September 11.

Running from 5pm to 9pm, the annual festival is more than just an evening of entertainment, it is a celebration of Robinvale’s multicultural community and the many cultures that contribute to the town’s unique identity.

The Lantern Festival has become an important event on the local calendar, with its roots in celebrations associated with Asian and South-East Asian communities. The festival brings together traditions from different cultures in one shared community celebration, reflecting Robinvale’s diverse population.

A major part of the celebration is the lantern itself. In previous years, local primary school children have been encouraged to create their own lanterns before taking part in judging and lantern parades along Perrin Street, creating a colourful spectacle for families and spectators.

The 2026 festival will continue that tradition, with the community invited to make their own lantern and enter it in the competition, with cash prizes up for grabs.

There will also be live entertainment, children's activities, multicultural entertainment, food and market stalls, providing something for people of all ages.

For Rotary, the festival is an opportunity to bring the community together and celebrate the diversity that makes Robinvale special. It is a night where different cultures, traditions and generations can come together in one shared celebration.

With Perrin Street transformed by lanterns, music, food and entertainment, the festival promises to be a colourful night for locals and visitors alike.

The 2026 Robinvale Euston Lantern Festival will be held on Friday, September 11, from 5pm to 9pm at Perrin Street, Robinvale.

Bring the family, make a lantern, enjoy the entertainment and be part of a night of lights, colour and community.
