ROBINVALE IMPROVEMENT GROUP (a.k.a. RIG)

Are you interested in what happens, or could happen, in Robinvale - your town?

What do you think could be done to improve the live-ability of your town?

Would you like to have your ideas and/or suggestions heard and, perhaps, followed up?

Would you like to be part of a volunteer organisation that is interested in what happens in Robinvale? An organisation that listens to members of this community who have ideas on what they believe should/could happen here. Are you passionate about improving the place we all call home and want to do whatever possible to make things happen?

If you can answer “Yes” to these (and more) questions, Robinvale Improvement Group (RIG) is the place for you. RIG is open to everyone in the Robinvale community. You don’t need special skills. You just need to be a member of the community, attend a meeting once a month and help to make things happen that will improve where we live.

After the non-year that COVID-2020 turned out to be, RIG has re-grouped and has, once again, commenced monthly meetings.

Meetings are attended by representatives from Swan Hill Rural City Council; a Director, a Councillor and the local Works Foreman as well as all interested members of the Robinvale community. Having Council representation allows RIG to get immediate responses to some questions. It also means that ideas for potential projects in Robinvale, as well as matters discussed, can be reported directly to Council for clarification or, perhaps, approval.

The next RIG meeting will be held on WEDNESDAY, MAY 12, 2021. This meeting will be held in the Robinvale Railway Station building. It will commence at 6.30 p.m. and last about an hour and a half.

All interested people are invited to attend. Bring any ideas you have to improve Robinvale’s future. Bring along a friend.

If you have any queries about RIG, or would like further information, please contact one of the people listed below:

Bev Harbinson (bharbins@bigpond.net.au);

Director of Infrastructure, Ms Svetla Petkova (svetla.petkova@swanhill.vic.gov.au); Councillor Les McPhee (les.mcphee@swanhill.vic.gov.au)

We would really like to see many residents in attendance on May 12.
