Abdul Alemi was able to announce some great news recently. Abdul is a refugee from Afghanistan who has lived in the area for a number of years and in that time he has been trying to bring his family to Australia. He has spent nine years trying to reunite with his family.

He finally got a call from the Department of Immigration, Abdul’s family had been granted their visas.

“I would like to have my own property and be living with my family and this is what a quiet life would be for me.”


Akesa Kei has been appointed to the role of the Community Facilitator for Our Place. Akesa is a young person who has grown up and attended school here in Robinvale. She went away to University and has now returned enthusiastically to her home town to work. Akesa said that her role in the “Our Place” project is to help the project achieve its objective to expand the opportunities open to children and families in highly disadvantaged communities.


Dragon Boat - Last year the Mildura Dragonboat Club held a Come and Try day for any interested people in Robinvale and Euston. Kate Redman has let us know that a Come & Try Dragon Boating experience will be on again on Sunday 22 March 2020 at the Robinvale Rowing Club Boat Ramp 10am to 12noon. At present about twenty people have put their names down for a Robinvale group of Dragon Boaters. They have decided that they will have their first training session after the “Come and Try” day on Wednesday 25th at 5.30pm at the Rowing Club boat ramp.
