On Sunday, June 9th, 2024, the inaugural Mildura Riverfront Marathon Running Festival saw 610 runners and walkers take part. The event aimed to achieve three goals: to draw runners from
across Australia to the banks of the River Murray, to encourage more local children
and adults to embrace running, and to raise awareness about the work of Mallee
District Aboriginal Services (MDAS). MDAS is dedicated to enhancing the health
and wellbeing of Aboriginal people and fostering leadership and cooperation to bridge the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities.
